Richmond, Virginia, USA –
A pioneering chapter titled "Civilization Resilience: A New Perspective for Addressing Climate Change and Health Threats" is soon to be published in the book "Health and Climate Change: Unraveling the Connections, by Saroj Pachauri, Ash Pachauri, M.P. Jonathan (Editors). The chapter offers groundbreaking insights into leveraging civilization resilience against the twin challenges of climate change and health threats. Authored by Ahmed Rashed, Tarek Rashed, Mohamed El-Belqassy, and Heba Rashed, and published by Elsevier, this work emphasizes the critical role of indigenous communities in mitigating these global issues.
The chapter introduces 'Civilization Resilience' as a transformative framework, informed by the 'Universal Declaration of Civilization Rights' and the discipline of 'Civilizology.' It presents a holistic approach to understanding the environmental, social, and healthcare dynamics that affect indigenous populations, advocating for an integrated strategy that respects their cultural heritage and traditional knowledge.
By examining the vulnerabilities exacerbated by environmental changes and the COVID-19 pandemic, the authors highlight the need for comprehensive environmental conservation efforts, enhanced healthcare infrastructure, and socioeconomic initiatives specifically tailored to indigenous contexts. The study critically assesses the limitations of current legal protections and argues for incorporating Civilization Rights and Civilization Resilience into global policies and strategic planning.
This chapter is a call to action for policymakers, healthcare professionals, and environmentalists to adopt Civilization Resilience as a cornerstone for equitable recovery and long-term sustainability, ensuring the preservation and prosperity of indigenous communities worldwide.
